How to Exclude Products From Recommendations

Some products don’t need to be recommended because shoppers buy them without having any second thoughts. Therefore, it is better to exclude them from the recommendations and include those that drive sales. With AfterShip Personalization, you can exclude certain product or product types to recommend only the best items. Follow this guide to learn the steps.
Keep in mind that we are taking the post-purchase scenario just as an example. You can exclude products if you have enabled product recommendations for the checkout page, thank you, and other pre and post-purchase scenarios.
Log in to your AfterShip Personalization account
Navigate to Post-purchase page > Smart offers
Select one of your active post-purchase offers and click Edit to enter the widget editor
Scroll down to Exclusions section
You can exclude
a. Products that are already in customer’s order
b. Products by manual selection
c. Products by tags (as defined in Shopify)
d. Products by collection (as defined in Shopify)
Note: Please make sure to add the tags while listing your products on Shopify store. If case you haven’t, just go to Products and your tags.
Click Save
